Hello Everyone! :)

I was born and raised in Poland as most of you may know if you listened to our show already. After high school I moved to California (USA), and started studying Broadcast Journalism. I am currently a senior at the BECA (Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts) department at San Francisco State University. The department was formerly known as Television & Radio. I am very passionate about music. I love to sing, and back in Poland I would sing at many regional contests, performances, churches and at my former schools. I am also all about foreign languages, cultures, world geography and traveling. I love to explore; learn and seek information about the unknown. This is why I love journalism in all of its shapes and forms. Whether it is radio, television production, documentary work, video editing or news. I SIMPLY LOVE IT. You might be wondering why a girl from Poland is hosting a radio show about Latin Music? Well, to be honest with you Latin America has always been a fascinating continent to me. Everything started with watching Latin novelas on TV at the age of 8 or 9 I believe. Then, at 14 I decided to learn Spanish and continued to explore the Latin culture. My love for Latin music though, truly developed when I was 12. When on vacation in Italy, my sister bought me a CD with biggest summer hits of Latin music, and the number one song featured there was "Obsesion" by Aventura. 

I went nuts & suddenly found myself dancing and listening to this song 10 times a day! Thanks to Latin Soundzz, I am exploring Latin music again, and learning a lot more than I ever knew. Thank you for listening to our show, and let's hope we can continue with it as long as possible.


El Chuy (Jesus Cabrera)  

¡Hola!

I am originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco México. I spent my childhood back home in México, but the rest of my life has been here in the Bay. I went to Aptos Middle School in San Francisco, but then moved to the East Bay where I continued High School and Junior college. I play acoustic guitar (Classic/Elelctric) on my down time as a hobby…although I haven’t played it for a long time hehe. I love futbol, NFL, NBA and MLB as sports. I am a huge WWE Fan, been a wrestling fan since day 1. I also love playing Latin music while I do my homework. In fact, I am listening to “Invierno by Reik” right now as I write this bio about myself… In fact, just go to youtube and search for “Invierno by Reik” and play the song while you read my bio. The point is that music makes everything much better. I truly enjoy listening to music while I read or just lay on my bed. 

I am proud to be a Latino for many different reasons. One is culture, two, best food, three is paradise and land beauty. Lets not forget about all of ¡Mis Latinas hermosas! The most beautiful women in the world. Agree? It’s ok if you don’t Lol. I tend to be serious around people when i don’t feel comfortable. I am a total dork child guy when i get comfortable around you so i guess that’s good right? Everyone has that inner child, smile and don’t take life too serious. I get mad when things don’t go my way, but doesn’t right? So chin up and move on! Life has been great to me and all I can say is that I am blessed to have the family I have, friends and everyone who has shaped the person who I am today. I continue to expand my knowledge here at San Francisco State University learning the craft of TV and Video Production.

I love what I do and I would not change any of it. Creating a piece of art is not a job to me, it’s a pleasure. It’s a pleasure waking up with you guys on Mondays for Latin Soundzz and share a little bit of my knowledge about Latin music.
